We’ve just shipped some major improvements to make HeyHelp faster and easier than ever.
What’s new:
These improvements are live today.
✨ Simplified setup
New users now use HeyHelp’s built-in API key by default — no need to bring your own (though it’s still available if you prefer).
🗂️ Bulk processing
We now automatically process (tags + drafts) the last 14 days of your emails as soon as you install HeyHelp.
⚡ Faster onboarding
From “Start trial” to your first AI-sorted inbox in under 2 minutes.

🙅‍♂️ No more API quota limits
We’re migrating to an all-inclusive model, using our own API key. Bringing your own key (and choosing your AI provider) will remain available, but optional.
✨ Improved rate limiting
We’ve also shipped improvements to the rate limiting, so if you’re using Gemini’s free Tier, you should reach your quota limit a lot less often now.
Today's update brings the results from Poll #1 and a handful of new UX improvements that make HeyHelp feel smoother and smarter to use.

✨ Auto-removal of AI Draft label
Deleting an AI-generated draft now automatically removes the
AI Draft
label, keeping your inbox cleaner. [Read more].
🏷️ Improved labels
HeyHelp labels now include a subtle dot (•) before their names, so they stand out from other Gmail labels and stay grouped together at the top.
🛠️ Smarter draft sensitivity
HeyHelp now skips generating replies to emails that clearly don’t need one. Fewer unnecessary drafts, more signal. [Read more].
📨 API quota notifications
You’ll now get an instant email if your AI activity pauses due to API limits, so you always know what’s happening.
🗳️ Vote #1 Results
Question: How would you like to manually trigger AI drafts?
Winner: 🏆 Option 2 (63%): by adding a label to emails.
Thanks to everyone who voted. We're already working on it!
🎥 Video update
→ Better formatting: improved numerical and bullet lists.
→ Improved accuracy: stopped generating drafts to boucebacks, no-reply emails or automated notifications.
→ Bug fixed: email signatures and salutations sometimes getting duplicated on AI drafts.
→ Bug fixed: AI drafts sometimes not adding all recipients.
Until now, AI drafts wouldn’t generate if an email was sent to an alias instead of your main address. That’s now fixed.
We added an Email Aliases section in HeyHelp’s Smart Reply tab. Add your aliases once, and drafts will flow seamlessly.
We’ve polished up AI drafts to make them clearer and easier to use:
→ Fixed subject line issues with special characters (eg. emojis).
→ Proper formatting for lists (numbers, bullet points, etc).
→ AI suggestions now appear in italics so you can spot them instantly.
→ Links are now clickable hyperlinks instead of plain URLs.
🚀 Public launch countdown + smart decline + drafts improvements
Launch month is here! We’ve been polishing features, shipping improvements, and making sure your inbox is ready for prime time.
Here’s what’s new:
↳ Countdown to public launch
We're launching on Tuesday, 16th September.
↳ Smart decline: Stop follow ups from cold email sequences by automatically sending polite auto-replies to pitches letting the senders know you’re not interested.
↳ AI drafts improvements: Lots going on, some already live, some being worked on: signatures, email history, aliases, default text style, hyperlinks…
🚀 Tagging insights are now live!
At HeyHelp, our vision has always been to give you full control: AI that does the heavy lifting, but adapts to your unique style and way of working.
That’s why starting today, you can see exactly what tagging patterns (and anti-patterns) HeyHelp is learning from your corrections. And here’s the best part: you get to review, approve, or reject them, keeping the AI sharp, personalized, and truly yours.
Here’s what’s new and why it matters:
↳ Learns your way of working:
HeyHelp doesn’t just tag emails. It studies your corrections and builds personalized tagging patterns based on your behavior.
↳ Full transparency:
You can see exactly what patterns the AI has learned, approve or reject them, and keep the system sharp and aligned with how you want your inbox organized.
↳ Smarter automation over time:
The more you use it, the better it gets. Every correction you make today saves you time tomorrow.
🚀 Big news: AI Drafts (beta) are now live for early users!
As of today, HeyHelp can draft replies to your emails, just like a real executive assistant would.
Your AI knowledge page
: We’ve added a place for you to tell HeyHelp about your role, company, tone, and preferences. The more context you give, the better your replies will sound: in your voice, with the right level of formality and detail.
Replies only when needed:
HeyHelp only drafts emails that genuinely require a response. If key info is missing or something’s unclear, it adds placeholders for you to review, just like a smart assistant would.
‘HH-Draft’ tag:
All AI-generated drafts are automatically tagged with ‘HH-Draft’ so you can easily find, review, and track them separately from your own.
Your inbox assistant just got even smarter. Here’s a quick roundup of the latest updates and improvements.
Google verification process
The technical side of our Google verification is now complete! We’re currently awaiting the final Letter of Authorization (LOA) before wrapping up the full approval process.
Smarter tagging logic:
We’ve refined how Hey Help applies AI tags, so it focuses only where it matters:
  • Now only tags emails in your INBOX and SENT folders
  • No more tagging Drafts
  • No more tagging emails that skip the inbox via Gmail filters
This means more relevant tagging, and more optimized usage.
Smoother Onboarding for API Keys
We now show a clearer error message if your OpenAI or Anthropic key is missing a payment method or credits (plus a Help Center article to walk you through the fix).
Your Gmail labels, now visible on your email list
Previously, Hey Help hid your existing Gmail labels in your list of emails. We’ve changed that so your existing labels are not affected.
We just dropped a new post on why Hey Help uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) approach, and how it benefits users (not just the tech folks).
